I know what you’re thinking: “Who the hell writes a blog in this day and age?” Fair enough. Blogging has fallen out of fashion, replaced by the likes of Twitter and Threads (which, yes, I also have). So why rant and ramble in here too? It’s not like people are just dying to hear my every word, they aren’t.
Still, blogging has a certain feel that the modern alternatives lack. They just don’t do it for me. And so, here we are.
I’ve never really been fond of the word limit on tweets or threads. I understand the logic behind them, but I find them suffocating all the same. Here, the only limit is how bored I get or how invested I am with whatever’s got my attention that day. Which brings me to what I’ll actually be writing about.
Honestly? I haven’t really given it much thought beyond talking about my sci-fi novels and Lovecraftian horror short stories (about which I could talk about for hours on end) but now I’m thinking it doesn’t just have to be a wiring blog. It can be about so much more than that. I mean, I’m an avid reader, perhaps I’ll ramble about my latest read or the thousands of books in my TBR. Or dinosaurs. Or the movies and series I watch on a perpetual loop. Maybe this is where I finally unload all my useless knowledge of Star Wars and A Song of Ice and Fire.
Oh my God, my cats? Perhaps my troubled love-hate relationship with birds. Where my fear of seagulls and chickens stems from. That whole thing.
Come to think of it…maybe starting a blog wasn’t such a good idea.
